Why did you join Rotaract?

What drew me to the Queen's Rotaract club initally was the great programs and organizations that they support and are involved with within the Kingston community.

What is the best part about Rotaract?

During my time with the Queen's Rotaract Club, I have most enjoyed fundraising and volunteering with the Annual Outreach Trip. The trip is a great way to meet new people and to step outside your comfort zone. Students are immersed in a new place and culture where they use fundraised donations to help the local community.

3rd Year - Global Development and History

Why did you join Rotaract?

I've always known about Rotary becuase my Mom went on a Rotary exchange to New Zealand when she was in high school, and also my local Rotary club is very active in my home community. So when I found out in first year that Queen's had a Rotaract club, I was instantly interested. I joined Rotaract because the club do both local and global initiatives. This makes Rotaract a great way to get involved in Kingston but also a way to learn about global issues.

What is the best part about Rotaract?

What I love about Rotaract is that we do both local and global initiatives. This makes Rotaract a great way to get involved in Kingston but also a way to learn about global issues. My best memory was going on the Outreach trip last year to a First Nations reserve in Northern Ontario.

It is a club that is affiliated with many charitable organizations with excellent volunteering opportunities as well as a great network to support activities like the annual outreach trip.

What is the best part about Rotaract?

The feeling of being a part of something much bigger, whether it be international causes such as eradicating polio, local causes like volunteering in the Kingston community, and personal causes in making many friends and having fun in the process.
